IS IT WORTH IT?: Benefit Porefessional Primer Review

July 18, 2017

After my recent Sephora Haul, I’ve been testing out a lot of new products. I feel very strongly about the Benefit Porefessional Primer, so keep reading to find out if it’s worth the buy!

The claim’s of the Benefit Porefessional Primer are that it’s supposed to minimize pores to help foundation go on smoother.  It is a lightweight, silky texture that helps to mattify shine and touch up problem areas.

I bought the smallest size of the product, mainly because I am doing a decent amount of traveling this summer, but also because I wasn’t sure how I would like it. The tube contains 0.25 fl. oz. of product, which isn’t a lot, but it only cost $12.00.  The full size of this product is 0.75 fl. oz., and costs $31.00.

The consistency of the product is a creamy, silicone texture. I found it to be very lightweight on the skin. I usually apply a pea size amount of it on my fingers and dot along my t-zone, blending it outward as I work the product into the skin.

I know many people say that the Maybelline Babyskin Primer is a dupe for this. I think that’s a pretty accurate statement besides one thing, I found the Maybelline product to be way more slick than the Benefit one. The Porefessional primer is much easier to apply foundation over, where as the Maybelline product was so slick, it occasionally made my foundation slide and look patchy.  The Porefessional primer also sets into the skin much nicer because it isn’t as slick.

The best part about this primer is it does really fill in pores. I have a decent amount of pores around my nose area, and the primer settles right into them, and helps my foundation to smooth right over. I never look like I have texture in that area, especially when putting highlighter on, which sometimes can emphasize imperfections.

To sum up the post, the Benefit Porefessional Primer is worth the buy! I love the way it melts into the skin, and it lives up to all the claims made!

Here’s where you can buy the product.

I like the feel that this primer leaves on my skin, but I sadly couldn’t get it to help minimize my pores. I know I’m a rare user who didn’t have much success with this which is such a bummer because I liked everything else about it!

That is such a bummer! It happens though, you have to find whatever works best for you. If it’s not this primer, there is definitely another one out there for you!

Yes! I’m still on the hunt but hopefully will find something sooner rather than later!

I used to use this primer and when I ran out I just never repurchased it due to the cost. I forgot how much I really liked it, I think I might give it another go after reading your review! Thanks!!

I always avoided trying it because of cost, but now I kind of get why it’s so expensive. So happy you’ll be trying it again after reading my review!! 😊

I absolutely love this primer! I totally agree with you on the Maybelline Primer, it was too silky for my skin and caused my foundation to slide right off! But the Benefit primer did not do that at all!

I love this pore primer 🙂 but it costs me too much. Have you tried Etude House Pore Primer? It is cheaper and works great!

The Porefessional makes the skin look amazing – at first. Yet, when I looked into the mirror in the evening, my skin was all scaled off… I have dry mature skin though.
