I’m a little late to the game with this post, but I really wanted to make sure I shared my July Favorites. This past month has been so hectic and I cannot it’s already August! I’m going to be heading back to school soon, and I wish I had a few more weeks to enjoy the sunshine. Never the less, I am ready to start my junior year of college (so crazy for me to say). I don’t have as many favorites as I did last month, not because the products I have been using aren’t good, but because I have been switching products out pretty frequently. As always, the links for purchasing the products I featured in this post are included. Here are some of my consistent favorites of the month. Enjoy reading!
My first favorite is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. I love the way this product seeps into my skin. It’s instant hydration in a bottle. The gel formula makes it very easy to apply makeup after, because it doesn’t sit on top of my pores. I have very sensitive, combination skin, and this product has done wonders for moisturizing my face. I use it everyday, morning and night, after I wash my face.
The next product was featured in the July Boxycharm, and you can find the unboxing of that by clicking here. I love this Spray. Set. Go. Makeup Setting Mist from Project Beauty. It does a great job at setting my makeup to make it last longer. I also really appreciate that the nozzle allows for an even application of the spray. It’s more like a mist, rather than a sprits, and that helps distribute it on my face much nicer.
Let me just tell you, I definitely will be purchasing a larger size of this product. I only bought the travel, because I didn’t want to spend $31.00, and end up not liking it. But have no fear, the Benefit Porefessional Primer is AMAZING for those who have large pores. I have a lot around my nose area and on my chin. It fills them in and leaves a nice smooth surface for my foundation to stick to. If you want a more in depth product review, you can click here to view my post on it.
I didn’t think I was going to like this product as much as I have, but the BareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder is really good. It sets my heavy concealer and foundation, but doesn’t make my skin feel cake-y, and feels very lightweight. I also appreciate that it doesn’t have color to it. The two options, matte or glow, are perfect for contouring and adding dimension. See me unbox this product from my July Boxycharm by clicking here.
As you can see, my next product has received a lot of love. The Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette is a fan favorite among many. I’ve been going for a more simple eyelook this month, than what I’m used to, and the colors in this palette are perfect for achieving that. I use Heaven in the inner corner and on the brow bone. Nudie in the crease and on the lid with Cashmere Bunny in the crease, but lower. Sexpresso in the outer corner of the lid, if I want to make it more dramatic. Then I pull Cashmere Bunny down onto the lower lash line to smoke it out. These shadows are very rich in pigmentation, and the colors are very wearable.
This is another product that I’m going to have to invest in. The Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara works wonders for those who need more volume. I have pretty long eyelashes, and this wand grips each one individually and fans them out, which brings so much fullness. I received this product in a Beauty Insider rewards box and featured it in my most recent Sephora Haul.
I’m really picky with pencil eyeliners, because I can’t stand when they tug or pull at my lid, or irritate my tight line. I was so skeptical when I received this in my July Ipsy bag, which you can see unboxed here. But the Ciate London Wonderwand Gel Kohl Eyeliner in black is so smooth, and pigmented. The liner coats my tight line and makes my lashes instantly look fuller. It never feels like I’m pulling or tugging on my lid when I use it. It also works great if you want to smoke out the lash line with the angled brush side.
My lash product is my favorite of my favorites (is that a thing?). I’ve been using my Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks almost daily, which you can see me unbox here and here. The formula of these is a dream to work with. I never need a lip liner, and they reapply with no hassle. I also don’t find the product to be sticky, or too drying. I specifically love this shade, Celebrity Skin, because it’s a very easy to wear nude. It looks great with a dramatic eye look, or just when wearing the basics on a casual day.
