IS IT WORTH IT?: Morphe 15D Day Slayer Eyeshadow Palette

January 31, 2018

I’m finally sitting down to do a long awaited Is It Worth It? on the Morphe 15D Day Slayer Palette.  I have been testing this out for the past month, and have determined my thoughts and feelings on the product.

To start, Morphe has redone their packaging and I absolutely love it. They switched to a heavier plastic, which feels so much better in quality. I also love the size of the palette. My 32 shadow Morphe palettes are great, but so big so you aren’t able to travel with it. This one is so compact, yet has so many shades that you would be able to do a variety of looks with it.

The palette includes 15 shadows that are a combination of matte and shimmer. All the shadows are warm tone, and very pigmented. My only complaint is that none of the shades really compliment cool skin tone. Even the shadow ‘Natural’, has a very orange undertone, so that’s just something to keep in mind.

Below are the swatches of each shade. They go in order as seen on the palette. Overall, I think they included some beautiful, and different shades that you may not be able to find in any other palette. My favorite shades to use are ‘Natural’, ‘Spark’, ‘Editor’, ‘Mauve’, ‘Blend’, and ‘Just Eyes’. ‘Sweet’ is also a great shade to wet on an angled brush and use for winged eyeliner.

Overall, I love this palette. Although it doesn’t necessarily compliment my skin tone, it is my favorite palette to use when I do want a warm tone look. If you have a medium to dark skin tone, or more of a yellow undertone, these shadows would look amazing on you. They are still the amazing Morphe quality, very blendable, without loosing any pigment.

The Morphe 15D Day Slayer Eyeshadow Palette is worth it. For 15 shadows at $15.00, you really can’t go wrong. I highly recommend this palette to everyone, and really hope I can get my hands on the 15N palette, after seeing how compact and practical this one is. I’m still planning on doing a tutorial with this palette, so stay tuned for that!

Thanks for the review! The mattes are surprisingly impressive, but I really don’t like how warm this is. While my skin played well with Naked 1, these shades remind me of the more orange-toned Naked Heat. I’m eyeing Colourpop’s Double Entendre palette or MAC refill singles. Still, props to Morphe for making such a high-quality budget palette. If they come out with a cool palette, I’ll be curious to see how the swatches turn out xx

Hey – great article. You should try out w7 Blazin’ palette – super affordable and it has really similar shades and hues to the morphe one! x

It’s beautiful but I’m over morphe now. In fact, I’m over eye shadows for now because I have too many!

I don’t blame you. If reviews are good though, it might be worth the purchase!

My daughter just received the 35-palette one. Looking forward to her applications/combos.
