LIFESTYLE: What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag

I’m getting ready to go abroad for the next month or so and have been thinking about what I want to bring makeup wise. I decided to do a post on what I have planned. It can be really hard to pick and choose what to bring when on vacation, so I hope this helps give a little guidance on the best products to bring to save space but also are the most useful!

My first recommendation is to buy a really sturdy and heavy duty makeup bag. I got this bag at TJ Maxx for very cheap and it is great because it actually opens up and has three separate compartments!

For brushes, I have a few staple ones that I can’t live without, like my setting powder brushes and contour brush. As for eye brushes, I try to bring ones that are slim and ones that are dual purpose, like my Profusion brushes. I also have a few travel brushes like the ones from Luxie Beauty that are great because they are small.

For makeup prep, I try to save any travel size moisturizers and masks I have to use for when I go on vacation. This particular set was from Glamglow that Sephora gives for birthdays. I also always bring a chapstick of some sort. The one pictured above is from EOS.

For face makeup, I always bring the foundation and concealer I’m using, just because I usually don’t have a travel one on hand. I do however pack a travel size primer and setting spray. Urban decay has a great primer and setting spray duo sold at Sephora for a reasonable price.

For powders I always bring the same translucent powder that I am currently using. I like to bring a smaller highlighter. The one in the picture is from Becca, and it’s the perfect size and shade. For blush and bronzer I found these adorable travel size ones from Benefit. You get 6 for $24.00 and they are perfect because they are small, so they save space, but you get a variety of blushes to try and wear.

When it comes to eyeshadow palettes, I usually change what I bring. These are a few of my favorites. The Colourpop Elements of Surprise palette is nice and sleek. The Tarte Tarteist palette is small and the colors are very pigmented. The Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette are beautiful neutrals in a small palette. The Winky Lux Kitten Eyes palette has 9 shadows that can be used to create a variety of looks.

I’m going to be bringing my Stila Eyeshadows because they are tiny, but pack a lot of punch. They are perfect for if I want to do a glam look. When it comes to eyebrows, eyeliner, and mascara, I usually pack whatever I’ve been using.

I try to will a few travel size lipsticks and glosses, but I always make sure to pack 3 products that I use regularly. The gloss I picked is a Kylie gloss in ‘Literally, a Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in ‘Frick N’ Frack’, and a Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lip in ‘Celebrity Skin’.

That is everything that I bring when I travel! I hope this helped give you a sense of things to find in travel sizes, and things to bring in full size. Comment down below if you have any products you can’t live without, even when going on vacation! Don’t forget to like this post and follow my blog for more beauty insight.
