TUTORIAL: Natural, Everyday Look

April 29, 2018

I have finally perfected my everyday makeup, and feel ready to share it with you all! I usually wear these products when I don’t have that much time, but still want a complete look. It takes me about 30 minutes to do this, but there are definitely steps you can skip, or add, depending on how much time you have. I hope you enjoy reading!

To perfect my face makeup, the first thing I do is add a pore filling primer. This evens out any texture I have on my skin. The next thing I do is dot foundation on my face, and blend it out with either a damp beauty sponge or the foundation brush above. I will add more product to places that I may have darkness because of acne or scarring. My third step is to put on concealer. I use the wand to create a triangle underneath my eyes, and then a put a line going down my nose on the center, a little on the center of my forehead, and a dot on my chin. I blend it out using a beauty blender or the foundation brush above. My last step is to set everything. If I have time, I’ll bake anywhere that I put concealer, otherwise I’ll use a big fluffy brush like the one above to set my entire face with a light layer of powder.

To add some definition and color to my cheeks, the first thing I do is use the Crown Brush to contour the hollows of my cheeks and around my face. I take the light shade in the Profusion Palette to do this. The best way to find where to place contour is to make a “fishy face” and place it right where your cheeks cave inward. I always swirl my brush in the powder, then tap off the excess to avoid creating patches on my face. I like to add some color next by using the Nars Orgasm Blush. It’s the perfect peachy, gold shade. I apply it with the Elf angled brush to the apples of my cheeks, by smiling and putting it where my cheeks push outward. I then go back and add warmth using the Hoola Matte Bronzer and the Morphe MB3 Brush. The best way to do this is go over anywhere you contoured, and then add some product to the top of the forehead to make it a little shorter, and on the jawline to define. The last step, and my favorite part, is to highlight! I use my Becca Prosecco Pop Highlighter and the Elf Highlighter Brush to highlight on the tops of my cheek bones, on my cupids bow, and down the center of my nose.

The first thing I do to frame my eyes is fill in my brows. I used to use eyebrow powder, but I have been using a pommade, and I like it a lot better! I always do a thin line on the bottom of my brow, and on the top, and fill in. It’s best to go darker on the outer portion of the brow, and do lighter, thin hair strokes towards the front of the brow. I stick with matte eyeshadows when I’m going for a natural look. Using the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Palette, I first blend ‘Silk Creme’ and ‘Pooter’ into the crease with the MODA fluffy blending brush. You can pick up the shadow, and then use windshield wiper and circular motions to blend it out. The next thing I do is highlight my inner corner and brow bone using ‘Enlight’ with the Luxie Beauty flat packing brush. My last step is to lightly add the color ‘Creamscicle’ to the lid, using a loose fluffy shadow brush.  I’ve been skipping using a felt tip liner, and instead just lining my tightline with a black pencil eyeliner. By skipping a thick wing liner, you will create a more subtle look. Then I add a little mascara, and the eyes are complete!

The last and final step for me would be using a little chapstick and gloss, and set everything with some setting spray.

The end result should look something like this!
