Well, whether we like it or not, the winter is upon us! That means the cold, dry air is all around. For my skin, it’s been a little bit of a nightmare! On Accutane, most people say dry skin is the number one side effect, and I can attest to that! I’ve been trying my best to keep up with moisturizing. With this in mind, I’ve been using a lot less powder, and mattifying products. I’ve almost completely switched out powder products for liquids, and creams. Below are the products I’ve found to be most helpful. I am also planning to do an Accutane-friendly everyday, makeup tutorial, to help show great alternatives for dry, sensitive skin!
Too Faced Natural Eyes Eyeshadow Palette: $38.00
This is the only powder product you will see in this favorites post. However, I really felt I had to include it. Years ago, I had the older version of the palette. They reformulated, and repackaged the shadows, and oh my god is it amazing! They are creamy, blendable, and so practical. I’ve done a ton of makeup looks for weddings with this palette. I highly recommend this palette, specifically for beginners, because it’s easy to use, and you can create a lot of versatile looks. Shout out to my best friend, Lexie, who gifted this to me for my birthday!
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlight Highlighter in ‘Pearl’: $14.00
This product is great because it’s multi-purpose. I use it to highlight my brow bone, and the inner corners of my eyes. I also use it to highlight my nose and cupid’s bow. The color is perfect for those that are fair skin, like myself, and I love how slim it is. I will occasionally throw it in my purse to touch up and freshen up my look throughout the day. If you have a different skin tone, there are other shades to try! They are also ~on sale~ on the Becca website, so check them out!
Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth Foundation: $7.99
Most people always talk about the Matte version of the Fit Me Foundations, however, I love this one so much! It gives medium coverage, but also doesn’t cake up or seep into pores. As I said before, any moisture I can get is really important, and this foundation does a great job of staying dewy, without moving. I also love that it has SPF 18. Even though it’s winter, the UV rays can still be harmful, especially on Accutane, so the sunscreen is an added benefit!
Wet n’ Wild MegaGlo Contour Makeup Stick in ‘Oaks On You’: $4.29
I’ve been looking for a contour stick, and toyed with the idea of buying the Hoola Quickie Contour, or a Fenty Beauty Contour. But, while I was walking through CVS, I saw these Contour Sticks, and thought I would give them a try. I really love it! It has a cool base, with warm tones layered in, so it contours, but also bronzes. My only complaint is the label rubbed off, but I think this product overall is a success! It’s easy to blend out, and doesn’t look streaky or dirty on my face.
