Month four is done! I can’t believe I’m nearing the end of being on Accutane. It’s been a really crazy experience, in that my skin was so bad month two, and now it’s almost completely clear. When I compare the progress photos, I am absolutely blown away. My skin feels so soft, and besides being a little dry, looks so much better. Based on my results, my doctor and I decided to continue the 80mg. Especially because I have lost a little bit of weight, there was no reason to increase the dosage. I’m still taking Omega-3’s to keep my triglyceride levels down.
This is the first month I’ve noticed my scars are starting to fade. I was concerned they would never really go away, but I can see them minimize as weeks go on. I’m applying as much moisturizer and chapstick as possible! Because it’s getting colder out here in the northeast, I’m sure my skin is going to continue to get more and more dry. I was explaining to my mom, if you are thinking about going on Accutane, I recommend doing most of it when it’s warmer outside. Even though you have to avoid the sun, I think thats much more manageable then dealing with dry skin 24/7.
I’ve been getting more and more compliments each month. I saw my friends from college, that had not seen me in person since May. They could not believe how much the Accutane has worked for me! They said I even look more confident, which is true! Because my skin is so much better on the outside, I feel much less insecure! Looks are not everything, but sometimes we have to feel good on the outside to strengthen our inner beauty, and recognize how truly amazing we are!
As always my progress photos are below. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments. I am by no means an expert, but I can share any information I have about Accutane so far. I can also ask my doctor if there is a particular question I cannot answer. Be sure to consult your own doctor if you are considering Accutane. They are your best reference point! Thank you so much for reading. Be sure to follow my blog for more updates on my Accutane journey, and of course follow for more beauty insight!
