Full transparency, I’ve been a little frustrated this month. As you may know from last month’s skin update, I had to lower my dose due to Eczema, and overall dryness. Because I’m only on 60 mg, I had a few little breakouts that resemble little dots, pop up on my face. They usually go away in a day or two, but my doctor recommended I continue Accutane for another month or two.
I want to be done with this process so badly, but I know that the end result is going to be amazing, so I don’t want to shorten it. I’m hoping I only have to be on Accutane one time, so I want to ensure I do all I can to make sure that happens. With this, I’m continuing on 60 mg until my skin stops the small breakouts. After that, I will do a one month check-up to make sure everything looks good, and my blood test come back with no issues!
I haven’t noticed any big changes in my skin besides the small breakouts. My skin is still dry, so I’m applying as much moisturizer as I can. I’m hoping my dermatologist will have suggestions for how to lighten the scarring on my cheeks, but she did say we have to wait to address that until I’m completely finished with Accutane.
As always my progress photos are below. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments. I am by no means an expert, but I can share any information I have about Accutane so far. I can also ask my doctor if there is a particular question I cannot answer. Be sure to consult your own doctor if you are considering Accutane. They are your best reference point! Thank you so much for reading. Be sure to follow my blog for more updates on my Accutane journey, and of course follow for more beauty insight!
